Serviced Areas
Dry goods and live fish can be sent Australia-wide. Customers from NT must hold an S11 Permit, and customers from TAS are required to have a Fish Dealer's Licence. For more details, please click here.
Invertebrates and live plants cannot be shipped into WA due to WA Biosecurity Laws. For more details, please click here.
Courier Service
We use Team Global Express as our courier service, which is the same priority system used for urgent medical equipment. Shipping is usually overnight or within one day, depending on your location.
Packaging and Shipping Costs
During winter, all live fish shipments will include a heat pack at no extra cost.
Shipping costs for live fish start at $22.50, and a box can typically hold up to 4 regular bettas or 3 giant bettas.
Final shipping costs are calculated during checkout, based on the total weight and box size required for your order.
Dry goods are shipped Monday to Friday.
Shipping Schedule
Live fish and invertebrate orders are shipped from Monday to Wednesday only.
Orders placed after 11:59 PM AEST on Tuesday will be scheduled for dispatch the following Monday, although we’ll try to ship sooner if possible.
Western Australian orders containing live fish will only be dispatched on Mondays.
If you have a preferred shipping day, please contact us in advance.
A tracking number will be provided once the order has been sent.
Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.
Pickup is available by appointment only.
Please be aware of any local events or holidays that may affect delivery in your area and contact us beforehand if you would like your order to be held for a short time.
Dead on Arrival (DOA) Policy
A full refund of the value of the perished fish will be issued if the following conditions are met: a clear video of the fish still in the unopened transport bag, in water, is provided on the same day of delivery.
If the DOA period is extended, the fish must be shown in water in the video.
Claims without a clear video will not be processed.
No refund will be issued if the fish were left outside, at the post office, or at the courier depot due to missed delivery.
The DOA policy is void if non-recommended delivery methods are chosen, such as choosing a courier when airport-to-airport is suggested.
Incorrect addresses or delays due to customer error will also void the DOA policy.
Once the fish are received, all responsibility transfers to the customer.
We do not cover issues such as disease or death that occur after arrival.
All fish are health-checked prior to shipping, but shipping stress can still occur.
Please follow proper acclimation steps upon arrival.
We discourage impulse purchases and reserve the right to refuse sales if we believe proper care cannot be provided.
Refund Policy
Refunds are available for faulty items.
You must report any fault within 24 hours of receiving your order.
Once verified, we’ll send you a return label and issue a refund for the item price only—shipping fees are not refundable.
For change-of-mind cases, we offer exchanges on non-live goods only.
Items must be returned in original condition and packaging, with postage at your expense.
Once we receive the returned item, we can issue a replacement or store credit.
All items remain the property of Seven Fishes until full payment has been received.
Additional Terms
Long-fin bettas such as Halfmoons and Dumbos, as well as guppies, may suffer fin damage during transit or chew their tails due to shipping stress. These issues are not covered under any policy.
Colour and pattern changes in marble bettas—including Grizzles, Marbles, and Koi—are natural over time and not considered defects.
Orders placed on hold for over a week will not be refunded, as our holds are offered solely to ensure that the fish arrive in a well-prepared environment.
Size disputes must be submitted with the fish still in a wet transport bag next to a ruler.
Size comparisons using objects or distant shots will not be accepted.
If there is a discrepancy greater than 1 cm, store credit may be issued.
